- Stephen Hasner
Stephen Hasner, Esq. is the founder of HASNER LAW. He has more than 17 years of experience in workers' compensation and personal injury law. He is a graduate of Florida State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Risk Management and Insurance in 1993. During his second year of law school, Mr. Hasner received the highest honor scholarship to intern at the Florida House of Representatives. In 1997, he earned his Juris Doctor at St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida.
Mr. Hasner began his legal career representing employer and insurance companies in workers’ compensation claims. Today, he utilizes that experience and knowledge in his current representation of only employees. In 2003, he became a partner of Hamilton & Hasner, P.C., devoting his practice exclusively to represent injured workers. Mr. Hasner is passionate about serving the injured and helping their families through a difficult legal and medical process. He is a trial attorney who enjoys the litigation process.
Mr. Hasner aggressively represents his clients and puts their interests ahead of the firm. He takes great pride in caring for his clients and fights for the benefits and medical treatment they deserve. He has successfully represented hundreds of employees in both catastrophic and non-catastrophic claims. Mr. Hasner and his staff will not pressure clients to settle their claims before they receive the treatment necessary to become medically stable. Mr. Hasner empowers his clients by consistently informing them of their rights and making recommendations through the entire process. Mr. Hasner is an accomplished leader in the legal field and currently serves on the Board of Directors of WCCL and WIN-PAC. He has also spoken at various Workers' Compensation seminars.

In 2006, he became co-founder of the Rayo de Sol ministry. Rayo de Sol is a non-profit organization that enables impoverished Nicaraguan children and families in underserved communities to break the cycle of poverty through programs promoting education, nutrition, health, and community development. In his spare time, Mr. Hasner enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
- Tracee R. Benzo, Esq.
Tracee R. Benzo is a partner at HASNER LAW. She practices in the areas of workers’ compensation and personal injury. Tracee serves injured workers and accident victims across the state of Georgia. The firm has offices in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia.
Tracee is President of The Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. In addition, she is an active member of the John Marshall Law School Alumni Board and the Workers Compensation Claimants Law Section Research Committee. She previously worked on the Executive Board of The Gate City Bar Association and The New Lawyers Division of The Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. She is a graduate of The Young Lawyers Leadership Academy (class of 2010).
Tracee graduated with distinction from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. While attending law school, she served as President of the Black Law Students Association and was a member of the mock trial and moot court team(s). In addition, Tracee was the Legislative Review Editor for The John Marshall Law Journal.
Tracee is a previous GABWA Scholar, Gate City Bar Scholar, Dekalb Lawyers Scholar and recipient of the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Scholarship. She earned 2nd place at the Regional American Trial Lawyers Association Competition in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Prior to law school, Tracee worked as a litigation paralegal after completing a leadership development program with Travelers & Citigroup in Alpharetta, Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and Speech and Communications from Clemson University in 2001 and her paralegal certification from Dekalb Technical College.
- Judith Ashe Blackwell
Judith Ashe Blackwell graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1981 from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Cum Laude in 1984 with a Juris Doctor. While in law school at the University of Georgia, she served as the Secretary and the Vice-President of the Student Bar Association.
Judith has been specializing in workers’ compensation law since 1984. She began her career in Albany, Georgia and moved to Atlanta in 1986. She practiced workers’ compensation defense and was later appointed as an Administrative Law Judge with the State Board of Workers’ Compensation in 1995, a position that she held for six years. Judith presided over 500 workers’ compensation cases as a judge. Her experience as an Administrative Law Judge gives Judith a unique insight into the thoughts of a judge and how the judge might rule in a particular case. In 2000, Judith became Partner in a large Atlanta law firm, where she also headed the Workers’ Compensation practice group. Judith also served as an Assistant General Counsel in Atlanta Public Schools where she continued to emphasize workers’ compensation for the school system.
- Jonathan Johnston
Jonathan joined the HASNER LAW team in 2012. Prior to joining HASNER LAW, Jonathan worked at one of the largest insurance defense firms in the state of Georgia, representing employers and insurance companies in workers' compensation claims. Having worked with insurance companies, he utilizes the knowledge and experience to assist injured workers in obtaining all benefits due to them under the workers' compensation laws of Georgia.
Jonathan is a confident and compassionate attorney, who is committed to achieving excellence for his clients. He is a critical thinker, with strong analytical skills. Jonathan strives to help his clients receive the benefits due to them in a timely and efficient manner. Clients have appreciated his dedication to their cases, his intricate knowledge of the workers’ compensation system, and his ability to adapt case strategy to their particular needs in the case. Jonathan takes pride in being dependable and will go above and beyond to help his clients.
In 2003, Jonathan graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Montana with Honors. He graduated law school in 2008 from Stetson University College of Law. Jonathan and his wife support animal rescue centers and have sponsored several animals in need of medical care during recovery from prior abuse. In fact, they have two wonderful rescue dogs of their own, Bonnie and Lucy. Jonathan is an avid golfer, fly-fisherman, and boxing enthusiast.
- Erin Tankersley
Erin Tankersley has been a case manager with HASNER LAW since 2010. She joined the HASNER LAW team with over 12 years of experience and a diverse legal background. Over the past decade, her skills and specialties have included workers’ compensation, personal injury, private equity, wills & estates, contracts, special districts, real estate, foreclosure, bankruptcy, bookkeeping, and payroll.
Erin plays an integral role on the HASNER LAW team with her organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. She has a high sense of diligence and ability to effectively multi-task several complex assignments with tight deadlines. Clients have appreciated her critical thinking skills and her ability to help settle their cases in a timely manner.
In 1994, Erin graduated from Clemson University with her Bachelor's of Science degree in Wildlife Biology. Erin enjoys spending time with her family. She coaches fastpitch softball and in years past, she coordinated the Southern Colorado High School Mock Trial competition.
- Pam Hulsey
Pam Hulsey has been with HASNER LAW since 2010. She has over 15 years of experience as a paralegal. Pam joins the HASNER LAW team with many skills and knowledge in the legal field. In addition to workers' compensation law and personal injury law, she is highly experienced in civil litigation, criminal law, wills & estate, and domestic law. She has proven ability to work independently in all aspects of litigation and settling cases for her clients.
Pam is able to facilitate and expedite case settlements that award clients with the benefits they need. She is observant, intuitive and conscientious with great attention to detail. Pam has an immense ability to communicate with attorneys and clients. She interacts professionally, concisely, and effectively with her clients. Clients appreciate her deep knowledge and understanding of the workers' compensation law and trust her completely with their cases. In 1999, Pam received her Paralegal Certificate from the Professional Career Developmental Institute. In her spare time, she loves to go camping and do other fun activities with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
- Pirosa Merritt
Pirosa Merritt has been a case manager with HASNER LAW since 2006. She is a graduate of the Paralegal Studies Program at Kennesaw State University. She was born in Lima, Peru, and is fluent in Spanish.
Pirosa enjoys being a case manager at HASNER LAW because it gives her the opportunity to work with the Hispanic community. Her clients rave about her dedication and hard work in getting the benefits and help they deserve. She treats every client with respect and goes above and beyond to serve their workers' compensation needs. When she is not helping clients, Pirosa enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children.
- Whitney Williams
Whitney joined HASNER LAW as a paralegal in 2012. She has 3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation. She attained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Kennesaw State.
Whitney is a great addition to the HASNER LAW team. She is noted for having exceptional problem solving skills and a critical editing eye. Whitney strives to help clients feel at ease with the legal process. She is professional in her work as a paralegal and is also compassionate.
Whitney enjoys learning other languages and is working towards achieving a certification in Chinese. She also uses her passion in linguistics to teach English in various charity organizations. In 2011, she received the TESOL certification.
Whitney has taken the initiative to spearhead three conferences, including one for professional development and two for charity fundraising. Whitney also volunteers her time for the National Marrow Donor Program, for which she recently donated bone marrow to an anonymous recipient.
- Cecile D. Barnhill
Cecile Barnhill has been a paralegal with HASNER LAW since 2012. She worked in personal injury law while attending the Emory Paralegal Program in 2011 and also interned with a firm that specialized in family law and civil litigation/personal injury. Cecile attained her Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Detroit Mercy with dual majors in Political Science and Law Enforcement.
Before joining HASNER LAW, Cecile served as a Grants Specialist and Grants Manager for non-profit organizations and educational institutions in the state of Michigan, North Carolina, and Georgia for the past 12 years. Cecile also served as a Licensed Social Worker and Administrator in the non-profit human services field for nearly 20 years. She has worked in various aspects of human services including foster care, adoptions, residential care, youth in lock-up, homeless youth and families.
Cecile is compassionate and caring; possesses a strong sense of excellent service to her clients; and maintains high professional standards. She takes pride in guiding her clients through the difficult workers' compensation process. Clients have full confidence in her hard work, dedication and attention to their cases.
- Mystical Studaway
Mystical joins HASNER LAW with over 11 years of experience in the legal field as a paralegal, legal assistant and office manager. Her skills and specialties have included criminal, civil, bankruptcy, personal injury, family, and commercial law. Mystical also has experience in preparing cases for civil, criminal hearings and trials held in the state court, superior court and the court of appeals.
Mystical also attended John Marshall Law School. While there, she served as Secretary of the Black Law Student Association. She was also a John Marshall Law School Student Bar Association Representative.
Mystical holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University (class of 2001). She also earned her Paralegal Certificate from Clayton State University in 2011.
Mystical has been an active member of The Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA) since 2005 and served on the GABWA Executive Board for four years. Mystical is a previous GABWA Scholar. She also volunteered with the Fulton County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and the Truancy Intervention Project (TIP).
Mystical is originally from Jackson, MS. and grew up in Marietta, GA. She loves animals, children and the elderly, she also enjoys helping others and giving back to the community.
- Melodi Buggs
Melodi Buggs joins the HASNER LAW team with three years of experience. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in 2006 from Florida A&M University. Melodi also received a certificate in Paralegal Studies from Clayton State University in 2010.
Melodi is a very responsible and caring paralegal. She will go the extra mile to help all of her clients and will do everything she can to make them feel comfortable. Melodi joins the team with a strong knowledge and understanding of the legal process.
Melodi is very family oriented. She spends a lot of time with her daughter and enjoys traveling.
- Melissa Camp
Melissa joined the Hasner Law team in 2013 with a diverse legal background, including workers' compensation, personal injury, wills and estates, bankruptcy and social security.
Melissa graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Communications. She obtained her paralegal certificate from The University of Georgia.
Melissa enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, attending Braves games and volunteering with her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta.
- Nicole Reid
Client Relations Manager
Nicole Reid has been a Client Relations Manager with HASNER LAW since 2011. She joined the HASNER LAW team with a diverse background, which included touring in professional music bands and administrative positions in a Public Relations firm and a Printing Association. Prior to joining the team, Nicole served as a Program Coordinator for an Educational Foundation.
Nicole plays an integral role on the HASNER LAW team with her ability to guide every new client to the right place. She is compassionate, responsive, caring and calm. Nicole has the incredible ability to make every potential client feel comfortable.
In 1995, Nicole graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Nicole is a native of Atlanta and enjoys spending time with her family, especially her three nephews and her 9 year-old cocker spaniel, Marley.
Nicole is also a songwriter, self-published author of book of poetry entitled "Clouds & The Stirless Wind," writer of children's books, a collection of acrylic paintings, and a lover of the arts in general. She makes every potential client feel at ease with the difficult legal process.
- Daniella Montealegre
Daniella joined the HASNER LAW team in 2012. She previously worked as a Workers’ Compensation paralegal for two years.
As the Marketing Manager, Daniella leads all of the marketing efforts for HASNER LAW. Her attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to speak fluent Spanish makes her a crucial part of the HASNER LAW team.
In her spare time, Daniella enjoys music and outdoor activities. Daniella is currently pursuing a degree at Georgia Perimeter College and also volunteers her time to help children and animals.
- Dale Cunningham
Dale Cunningham has been an Administrative Assistant with HASNER LAW since 2012. She studied Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at Georgia State University. Dale worked in the legal field for more than 14 years as a receptionist and legal assistant in the areas of personal injury and workers’ compensation.
Clients find Dale to be both warm and professional. Dale has the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and works hard supporting the staff at HASNER LAW.
Dale is a mother of two grown children and a grandmother of three. She is a native of Atlanta and enjoys reading, writing, music and dancing.

- Jordan Maphet
Jordan Maphet has been a filing clerk for HASNER LAW since early 2013. In his supporting role, Jordan assists the paralegals and attorneys with filing and other projects to ensure the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
Jordan graduated from Cherokee Christian High School and is currently pursuing a degree from Kennesaw State University, in International Affairs with a concentration in economics and business.
He enjoys various sporting activities and plays for the KSU Club Football Team. Jordan is also active with Reformed University Fellowship.
