In a concerning incident in Midtown Atlanta, at least 15 individuals sustained injuries after a party bike tipped over. The mishap occurred on Saturday evening at a city intersection, leading to immediate law enforcement response.
The Atlanta Police Department, through spokesperson Steve Avery, confirmed that officers arrived at the scene following reports of a collision. Their preliminary inquiry revealed an electric-powered “pedal pub” had lost balance while executing a sharp turn, resulting in its overturning.
As a consequence of the incident, all injured parties received prompt medical attention, with transportation to adjacent healthcare facilities. It was noted that while injuries were sustained, none were assessed as life-threatening.
In a subsequent move by the authorities, the driver of the vehicle, whose identity remains undisclosed, was taken into custody. Charges against the driver include driving under the influence (DUI) and a breach of business permit regulations.
